In June, Warren and I decided it would be fun to invite our children to go on a weekend vacation with us. We wanted a place we could use our blow up kayaks. Warren suggested Moon Lake and we were able to reserve a campsite for this past weekend. We wanted to to something all together before our college students get back into classes.
I won this "air hammock" in a contest at work. We haven't used it until this weekend. I think it will be popular on future adventure. It is much easier to inflate if there is a little wind.
First evening walk on the beach. There was about 2 miles of beach to walk along from our campsite to the dam.
There were some pretty friendly deer that lived in the campground. These two babies were fun.
We had pretty close access to the Lake. Our tent was off to the left. Warren did a great job bringing items from home to make the trip more comfortable. The canopy with the sun shade was especially nice.
Each morning we were there, I took a walk along the lake in my pajamas. (I didn't want to wake up the slumber party by getting dressed.) We all slept in the same large tent. No one snored or talked in their sleep (too loud) and we actually slept pretty well.

Warren and Tyler took the kayak for a long adventure up to where the river feeds the lake. After a windy afternoon, the lake was very calm in the evening.

Melanie was thrilled when another camper told her sometimes the deer would eat out of your hands. She took it on as a challenge and before we left had this deer following her around the campground. She said it is a sign she is really a Disney princess.

In the beginning was the Word. And The Word who would later be called I Am created the earth and all that in it is.
This weekend we as The Warren Henrie Family got closer to The Word in His infinite creations. At Moon Lake we 'ooh'ed during the day at His greens, blues and reds then 'ah'ed at His Milky Way and His millions of stars, planets and asteroids.
Only He doesn't dominate them but empowers them. Many times He wows us with these creations of His just to remind us of who we truly are. He is ever mindful and always loving.
