The hike to Red Pine Lake is challenging but also rewarding. It helps to have a hiking buddy to talk with on the the way up and down. We expected that we would be hiking in the snow part of the way and we were not wrong. There were a couple of times we lost the trail and just headed up or down the hill in the general direction we knew we needed to go until we found the trail again. Andrea had a little trouble with her ankle on the way up but even she made it to the lake.
