"Feeling 22" - Happy Birthday Graigry

I had trouble getting Graigry to tell me what I could do for him to celebrate his birthday. He could have moved into the dorm but I convinced him to spend his birthday at home. We made bbq sandwiches, had Ruffles (his favorite), watermelon and birthday cake. After dinner the kids played Bang.

It was a busy week and an especially busy day. This is what your birthday cake looks like when Dad is in charge. Graigry didn't mind at all.

First day of UCAS, Visit from the Drapers, Moving day for Tyler, and Saturday chores

First day of UCAS, junior year.

Warren and I have been asking Melanie to study at the kitchen table for years. I don't know how long it will last but apparently it is more fun to study at the table if you have a fun study buddy. I snuck a picture so I can remember it happened once. Melanie and Marie have several of the same classes so they can help each other with the homework.

  The Draper family came over for breakfast on Saturday morning. They were in town to attend education week. Jessica, Melanie and Lindsey made some music together. Clayton came over as well so he could meet Jessica's "second family".

Tyler's t-shirt quilt got all bound this week. I wrapped him up in it and let him know it is full of hugs from mom. He and Warren packed up a van full of his stuff and headed to Logan. Tyler got moved into the dorm and Warren took him to get a few groceries before heading back to Lehi. Tyler will start training for his new job in technical support on Monday morning.

Marie and Melanie were supposed to be helping me shop at COSTCO but instead they were visiting the big bears.

On the way home from COSTCO we introduced Marie to shaved ice.

Melanie's Week

As I looked for the common denomenator in this week's activities I realized Melanie is back at the center of our lives. How wonderful. We started off the week with her getting out her wisdom teeth. She was nervous but did really well and seems to be healing quickly. This picture is right after surgery so she is wearing the cute ice pack head band.

It is nice to have someone willing to go grocery shopping with me. This is one of her favorite things at COSTCO.

Melanie is head poster designer when we are getting ready to welcome a new exchange student. Warren helped her paint the poster.

Delayed flights made a long trip but she made it!  This is Marie, who will be with us for the school year.

More Summer Adventures

It wasn't that exciting of a week around our house. Warren was recovering from his kidney stone and all of us were back at work. Melanie spent the week in Montana with her best friend, Brina's family.

Tyler went Disco Skating with these lovely ladies on Saturday night. Taylor is one of his best friends

It was a different way of life in Ronan, Montana.

We were told Melanie really got into racing.

They did not see any Bears

Melanie loved Kayaking around this lake and exploring the little island nearby.  It was a little cold for swimming.
