A Visit to Scheels

We went for a little Christmas vacation adventure to the new recreation store Scheels.
One fun thing about the store was looking at the taxidermy displays.
They also have several places you can take pictures with their creatures.

Christmas Day

The day started with the kids looking at what Santa brought them in their stockings.

We then waited for Grandma and Grandpa to arrive so we could open presents with them.

We then went to the Atkisson's house for a late breakfast and more gifts.

On the way home from the Atkisson's we stopped at a sledding hill.  Steven had never been sledding before.

We ended the evening with a delicious ham dinner.
Everyone agreed it was a perfect day.

Favorite things about Christmas this year:
Mary:  Having all of my children home together and the music (our programs and concerts we attended).
Steven:  Shopping for Christmas gifts for the family
Tyler:  Food
Jessica:  Spending Christmas with Steven because it was his first Christmas.
Melanie: Getting together with family
Warren:  Spending time with family
Graigry:  Christmas concerts

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve morning was filled with last minute gift making.

We woke up to a winter wonderland of snow outside and were thrilled to know it would be a white Christmas.  Most of the kids couldn't wait to get outside and play in it.

In the evening, we made our way to my parent's house for a delicious and fancy Christmas Eve dinner.
We then took the whole family Christmas caroling to the neighbors and delivering their Christmas gifts.  We didn't just sing on the doorsteps, we just sang at the top of our lungs through the whole neighborhood.

Back at my parent's house our family performed our 2012 program for the Atkisson's and my mom and dad.

Then Kara and Megan sang a song for us.
And the kids acted out the nativity story as my Dad read from the Bible.

We then played Christmas Charades which got really silly and I laughed until I cried when Aunt Connie told us about "butt spelling" words and Emily demonstrated.
