We love to see the Temple

As suggested in stake conference, we drove up as a family to walk around the Mount Timpanogos Temple grounds Sunday afternoon. It is such a beautiful and peaceful place to visit. It is great to know that because of Christ's atonement and the sealing ordinance of the temple our family can be forever!

Home Teaching

Graig's home teaching companion, Brother Berry, invited Graig and one of their families, the Seamons, to his house for an evening of horse back riding. While they were there, Sister Berry challenged Graig to ride the family's cow. Thanks to the Seamons family for snapping this picture for me.

Sunday Dinner at the Southards

Everyone should be so lucky.... We were invited to Sunday dinner at the home of our home teachers, Richard and Alice Southard. Everything was so gourmet and there was so much of it. Along with the food, which they ate until they were almost sick, the kids loved the gold plated silverware and fancy plates. Of course, the company was great too. Brother Southard gave us our lesson out on the back porch while we digested and the kids played with their dogs. After all that kindness, they sent the leftovers (and there were lots) home with us to enjoy later.

Piano Recital

Jessica and Tyler had a great piano recital at Piano Gallery on Sept. 13th. Tyler played "Sonantina" (Moderato and Romance) and Jessica played "Fur Elise" and the concerto she is going to play in the upcoming concerto festival. I had never heard the concerto with her teacher playing the second part. It was fantastic. Congratulations on the hard work kids.

Our brick mailbox

Over eight years ago Warren started building a brick mailbox for us and the next door neighbor to share. He got as far as a pedestal and that is where the project came to a screeching halt. The pedestal has had a piece of wood on it to which the mailboxes were attached. Lately the wood was falling apart and had to be replaced, so Warren decided to resume the project. Thanks for the new mailbox Warren.

Labor day fun

Jessica and Graig spent the night at their grandparents house so Graig could go on a 50-mile bike ride with my Dad Labor Day morning. Tyler, Melanie and I cleaned up the house and went to the swimming pool so I could swim laps and they could play.
Once Jessica and Graig got home we cleaned out the storage room. When Warren got home from work, we played by taking a hike to "Battle Creek Falls" in Pleasant Grove. Graig and Warren

Happy 15th Birthday, Graig

Graig's birthday celebrating began when he and Taylor spent a few hours at Liberty Land before Taylor went back to Oregon. They mostly played laser tag but also had time for mini-golf, go-carts, bumper boats, and of course the frog hopper.

The morning of his birthday.

His Friday night party.

Graig had some kids from his new school, kids from his old school, cousins and siblings at his party. They played outdoor games, made s'mores, and watched an outdoor movie projected on the back of our house.
