UCAS Last Chance Dance

Warren and I were the chaperones at the UCAS Dance. As you can see Jessica got a little crazy and Warren and I even danced a little.

Meadow Dance Festival and Sego Lilly Field Day

You know the end of school is near...

Melanie's class did a "dance" about superman. They all dressed up in blue with an "S" on the front. As she walked out the door for school Melanie told me she needed a red cape. Thank goodness I had just made Jessica a RED prom dress.

Mom got to run games at both Tyler and Melanie's field days. At Tyler's I help with a water balloon toss. All that water kept us cool. At Melanie's I ran a fun game where the kids all held on to a blanket and tossed a volleyball back and forth to each other. It was great for building teamwork. Tyler is shown here with his friend Jayden.

Images of Greatness

Tyler researched and wrote a report on Martin Luther King for school. The class then did a "wax museum". Each child dressed up like their character and would recite a poem they wrote about their character's life when you pushed a "button." Tyler did a great job!

Melanie's Field Trip to the Hutching's Museum

Melanie's 3rd grade class has a great field trip to the museum. They learned about Petrographics, birds, rocks, Utah History, and Indians.

Graigry's Final Concert with the WMS Orchestra

Graig had a good time playing in the Willow Creek Middle School Orchestra all three years he attended there. They had their final concert on May 13, 2009. He is pictured here with one of this best friends, Joe.

Jessica's 17th Birthday

Jessica's big birthday gift this year was a digital camera.

She invited a few good friends from school over to help her celebrate on Saturday night. They played games, had cake, and even wrote a story. We love you Jessica.

The kitten's have their eyes open!

All five are so cute. The kids are making sure they are well socialized. Call now to reserve your kitten. They will be spayed/neutered and ready for new homes the end of June.

Last Day in Bluff

Before leaving to come home we had a ceremony to officially dedicate Grandpa's cabin. In these pictures Graig is pointing to Grandpa's name on the plaques they have on the fort property. The large group photo is all the Hobbs family who came for the reunion. The smaller group is the Taylor family. It was a weekend never to be forgotten.

Four Wheeling in Bluff

Drew Major brought seven four wheelers to Bluff so that we could ride out to see the San Juan Hill, the last major obstacle the "Hole in the Rock Pioneers" had to cross to get to Bluff. It was all of our first time on four wheelers. Graig was thrilled to be allowed to drive and did well after getting the "hang of it." After hiking to the top of San Juan Hill we drove out to see the Indian River Ruins Petrographics.

Mary's first ride was on the back of Kenneth Taylors Four wheeler. She was not wearing goggles and we rode close to Graig to keep track of him. All of that led to one dirty girl at the end of the ride. When I got in the shower mud ran down my body as the water hit my hair.

The next day Mary drove her own four wheeler, made sure she got goggles, and rode with Melanie on the back.

Staying Busy at the Bluff Fort

On Friday night, we had a bonfire to burn all of our "construction waste". It was a scout's dream fire.

We had programs each night we were in Bluff. The first night Graig and Grant told stories about Grandpa Hobbs and Melanie, Graig and Collette played fiddle songs. The second night Dale and his daughter did a show with cowboy poetry and songs. Dale played the guitar while his girls played their violins.

There was a swimming hole fed by a natural spring just up the canyon from the fort.

The handcarts around the fort provided hours of entertainment. The lizards crawling around the fort were also good for hours of entertainment as the children tried to catch them.

Tyler worked hard to paint the cement between the logs on previously built cabins so it looked like real mud.

Building a Cabin in Bluff - Hobbs Family Reunion

Descendants of George B. Hobbs gathered on May 6th at the site of the original fort in Bluff Utah to build a cabin in His memory. We built a cabin from the ground up in two days. The cabin came as a kit from a company in Nephi. We helped strip in the logs for the roof, cut metal lathe to hold the cement between the logs, and helped put in the cement between the logs.
