Happy Birthday Warren!

Dad loves it when his nieces Ashlyn and Emily sit on his lap
With 42 candles crammed onto his cake, Dad's cake tasted decidedly waxy, although he did blow all of the candles out in one breath.

For his birthday present, Melanie sang Dad a song, "What are You Telling Me?" about how her dad's good example influences her. She spent hours transcribing the words off of one of Jessica's CDs.

Dad's deacons wanted a "fun" activity to remember from 2008. Apparently Dad works them to death; he only had 5 of them advance rank in the last Court of Honor. So, living up to his reputation as the "mean Scoutmaster" (not really) he was the only mutual advisor to hold an activity between Christmas and New Year's. The Scouts planned a Wii party and spent the time boxing each other.

Taylor Family Christmas Party

At the Taylor Family Christmas Party this year, they asked Jessica to write a program that everyone could read. She spent all of the previous night working on it, and when it was finally done, it kind of backfired because 1) she couldn't stop laughing during a song, and 2) there were about 4 narrators who (multiple times) all had to take turns getting up and down, to and from the microphone to say their tiny little parts. It was pretty funny. Good thing we had Grandpa Taylor's tradition of Christmas stockings to the grandkids to bail us out. The food was good too.

Christmas Caroling

On Christmas at Grandma and Grandpa Anderson's house, Dad and I (Jessica) went through all of the Christmas songs in the hymnbook. We were kind of hoping it would turn into a "family moment" of singing about Christ's birth, but lo and behold all they did was take pictures!
